Reflecting on 2024 and Setting Goals for 2025
Itโs a New Dawn, Itโs a New Dayโฆ Reflecting on 2024 and Setting Goals for 2025
As we approach the end of another year and prepare to welcome 2025, itโs natural to find ourselves in a reflective and optimistic frame of mind. This is a time to ask meaningful questions about the past 12 months, the 52 weeks, and the 365 days that made up 2024. Did you achieve everything you set out to? Was it the year you envisioned? Did you make the difference you wanted to?
The answers will vary for each of us, but whatโs important is to take the time to ask: How did 2024 go for me?
We often focus on what we didnโt achieveโitโs human nature. But through this article, Iโm here to help you recognize that youโve likely accomplished far more than you give yourself credit for. Reflecting on one yearโs experiences to learn, grow, and develop into the next is a powerful exercise I encourage my clients to undertake.
Letโs begin by stepping away from the day-to-day and drilling down into the past 365 days with these five key questions:
Reflecting on 2024
- Was 2024 your best year ever? If yes, why? (And if not, why not?)
- What was your best month in 2024, and what made it special?
- What were the top five achievements for your business?
- What were your top five personal achievements?
- What did you do for yourself that brought joy and fun into your life?
These questions go beyond the business and focus on you because you are a vital part of your success. Taking time for yourself and stepping away from work is not just importantโitโs essential. It provides freedom, a concept we emphasize heavily in our Masterplan Programme. Freedom means living life on your T.E.R.M.S.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Once youโve reflected on 2024, itโs time to shift focus to the year ahead. A new dawn is approaching, and with it, 365 days full of possibilities. Here are five questions to help you define your goals and set a clear roadmap for 2025:
- Do you know what you aim to achieve this year, personally and professionally?
- Do you have a roadmap with bite-sized, achievable milestones to guide you?
- Whatโs on your 2025 Vision Board, and are you fully committed to making it happen?
- Who is alongside you, supporting and driving your goals forward?
- Have you shared your vision for 2025 with your team, so they understand where youโre headed and their role in getting there?
This last question is a game-changer for any business. Sharing your goals and plans with your teamโwith full transparencyโcreates buy-in, builds motivation, and fosters collaboration. At Consulting and Coaching, weโve already shared our 2025 plan, and weโll be checking in quarterly to ensure weโre on track. Tools like Smiirl Boards help us visualise progress daily, keeping the team motivated and aligned.
